Alert Details

Corn rootworm hatch is predicted to either commence or continue especially across portions of Kansas and into central and southern Illinois in the next week. Additional hatches may also be observed in western Indiana, northern Missouri, southern Iowa, and southeast Nebraska in the week ahead. Growers in the risk area are encouraged to dig up both corn and soybean roots, and also volunteer corn in soybean and other fields, to look for the presence of newly hatched corn rootworm larvae. This is especially the case if corn rootworms have been a problem in the past few years.
