Corn Rootworm
Corn rootworm hatch risks will continue to spread to the north this week as soil temperature heat unit accumulations continue to increase and reach or exceed initial hatch thresholds. The risk area initially starts out this week from northeast Kansas east into northern Missouri, central Illinois, and western/central Indiana. By late week, the risk area spreads further west and north and encompasses a good portion of southwest into central and northeast Kansas, far southeast Nebraska, far southwest Iowa, northern Missouri, central Illinois, and portions of northern into central Indiana. Growers should be on the alert for potential hatches in these areas in the next week or so.
