Corn Rootworm
Corn rootworm beetle counts will need continued monitoring across much of the corn-growing region in the week ahead. Growers located in areas that have historically had at least some beetle populations or problems with rootworms should continue to monitor fields and assess beetle populations even if the plants are past critical growth stages as high populations now could lead to potential problems in 2018. Fields from Kansas, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, lower Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and east into southern Ontario, Canada are all at risk for the next few weeks.
