Corn Rootworm
Corn rootworm hatch risks will continue for the next week across much of the corn-growing region, although new hatches should focus primarily in the northern reaches especially along and north of I-90 and also across the far western areas in Colorado, Nebraska, and the central Dakotas. Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, lower Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and into southern Ontario, Canada are all included in the risk area this week. Growers should consider going out into fields and digging up roots to determine corn rootworm larvae populations especially in areas with continuous corn and/or where corn rootworms have historically posed a problem, especially in recent years.
