Alert Details

Corn rootworm risks remain on the High side this week into next weekend as continue hatching/root feeding may be ongoing in some areas, especially along and north of the I-94 corridor from the Dakotas into Minnesota, Wisconsin, lower Michigan, and into Ontario, Canada. Elsewhere, beetles are emerging as far north as I-90 now, and growers with crops at susceptible stages to damage, especially those with fresh silks, should monitor beetle populations and if populations warrant, consider treatment but at least take note of the high populations because this could impact corn rootworm populations next growing season. Fields in eastern Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, lower Michigan, as well as into southern Ontario, Canada are at risk of either a few remaining hatches (especially in the far north) but more likely now beetle appearances.
