Alert Details

High corn rootworm beetle risks continue in the forecast across a good portion of the corn-growing region, but mainly from northeast Colorado, northern Kansas and Missouri, and southern Illinois into central Indiana and Ohio and points north now as the crop advances past growth stages of concern further to the south especially in Kansas and Missouri. Growers should regularly scout fields especially where corn on corn or trait protection is not present, but also in other areas that are known for corn rootworm issues. Even if beetle counts are not exceeding threshold values for immediate treatment, but are present, these beetles could signify the need to alter planting intentions for next year’s crop.
