Corn Rootworm
Corn rootworm beetle risks remain in the High category across a large portion of the corn-growing region. Fields from northeast Colorado, northern Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada are all at risk of seeing continued beetle pressure. Growers are encouraged to scout fields regularly and take note of where beetle populations are present, and if present, whether or not populations justify treatment. Even if populations are not quite at threshold values, it will be important to note which areas are being affected as this may influence next year’s planting intentions for that specific area.
