Corn Rootworm
Moderate corn rootworm hatch risks are in the forecast this week across portions of southern/central Illinois northeast into far western Indiana, mainly along and either side of the I-70 corridor. Accumulated soil temperature heat units and antedecent moisture levels/rainfall are more favorable for initial hatch risk in this region this week. By late week, the Moderate risk expands only slightly to the west/northwest and east into far eastern Missouri, portions of west central Illinois, and also into central Indiana but heat unit accumulations to the north of the Moderate risk area are less due to cooler weather and heavier rainfall in recent weeks. Additionally, Low initial hatch risks are predicted mainly across southwest Kansas this week.
