Corn Rootworm
Initial corn rootworm hatch risks are now in the High category especially across the I-70 corridor from southwest Illinois northeast into east southeast Illinois and on east into central Indiana. Moderate risks extend from southwest Kansas east into Missouri and surrounding the High risk in west central and southern Illinois and also further east into Indiana. Growers in or near the risk areas are encouraged to dig up roots and look for corn rootworm populations especially in areas where rainfall has not been excessive or on well-drained soils or hillsides.
