Alert Details

Corn rootworm hatch risks continue to expand to the north and east in response to an increase in accumulated soil temperature heat units and generally warmer temperatures overall. High hatch risks are now in place from southwest Kansas east into Missouri, southeast and eastern Iowa, central and southern Illinois, central Indiana, and into far western Ohio. Moderate risks for more scattered hatches are predicted as far north as northern Kansas, southeast Nebraska, central Iowa, far southwest Wisconsin, portions of northern/eastern Illinois, northern Indiana, and northern and central Ohio. Growers in or near the risk areas are encouraged to dig up roots and look for signs of corn rootworm hatches in the coming weeks.
