Alert Details

Corn rootworm hatch risks continue to expand north and east as the annual hatch event increases in response to warmer temperatures and threshold values being met or exceeded. High risks are in place across the I-70 corridor in Illinois and Indiana at the start of the week, but then expand to cover a larger area from southwest Kansas northeast into far southeast Nebraska, Missouri, southern and eastern Iowa, west central into central/southern Illinois, central/northern Indiana, and also into western Ohio by late week and into next weekend. Moderate risks for an expected more scattered initial hatch risk includes much of the remainder of Kansas, southeast Nebraska, central Iowa, far southwest Wisconsin, portions of northern and eastern Illinois, northern Indiana, and northwest and central Ohio. Growers in or near the risk areas are encouraged to dig up roots and look for signs of corn rootworm hatches in the coming weeks.
