Corn Rootworm
Corn rootworm beetle risks continue in the forecast this week for a large portion of the corn-growing region, as scattered to locally widespread beetle presence is expected to continue. High risks remain for portions of Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada with Moderate risks surrounding the High risk region from Colorado east into the southern Great Lakes and north into North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. While not all beetle counts will reach threshold values for treatment, it is still important to note where these populations are being found as it may influence planting decisions for next year’s crop.
