Alert Details

Corn rootworm hatch risks now cover most of the corn-growing region through the next week. High risks are found across eastern Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, central and eastern North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, central and northern Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, much of lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada. Growers are encouraged to dig up roots, both in corn and soybean fields, and determine if populations are present and if so, at what severity. This is especially true in areas where rainfall has not been excessive and also where corn rootworms have recently been a problem in the past few years.
