Alert Details

Corn rootworm hatch risks will continue especially along and north of the I-80 corridor in the next week with beetle populations potentially becoming of greater concern especially in more advanced, tasseling/silking fields south of I-80. Numerous reports of corn rootworm hatch are present in many different areas of the corn-growing region, so growers from eastern Colorado into Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, lower Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and into southern Ontario, Canada are encouraged to dig up roots, both in corn and soybean fields, to determine population levels present and at what stage of growth.
