Moderate soybean aphid risks remain in the forecast across portions of eastern North and South Dakota, Minnesota, far northern Iowa, and western Wisconsin, with Low risks from the Dakotas and northeast Nebraska east into central Iowa, additional portions of mainly central/southern Wisconsin, far northern Illinois, and also into lower Michigan and southern Ontario, Canada. Overall, conditions are expected to remain favorable for some population increases on a local basis especially across the Moderate risk area in the week ahead, and with a higher percentage of the soybean crop now in critical reproductive growth stages, growers are encouraged to regularly scout fields and make any treatment decisions based on each specific field as soybean aphid populations can and do vary considerably even across adjacent fields.
