Soybean Aphid
Soybean aphid risks remain in the Moderate category for the eastern Dakotas, much of Minnesota, northern Iowa, and into western Wisconsin. Low risks continue for the central Dakotas, northeast Nebraska, central Iowa, central and eastern Wisconsin, far northern Illinois, lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada. Treatment has been necessary in some areas of the northern soybean region, but growers are advised that soybean aphid populations will vary considerably from field to field so field-level scouting is needed to determine if treatment is needed. Regular scouting should continue through the R6 growth stage as any yield loss after that growth stage is very minimal.
