Alert Details

Soybean aphid risks remain in the Moderate category for the next week especially across the more intensive soybean acreage regions of the eastern Dakotas and eastward into a good portion of Minnesota. Low risks for potentially more isolated, localized high populations may exist from the central Dakotas eastward into remaining parts of Minnesota not included in the Moderate risk as well as far northern Iowa, and further east still into Wisconsin, lower Michigan, and southern Ontario, Canada. A higher percentage of the soybean crop is now advancing past critical growth stages where soybean aphids can cause yield loss, but growers with crops still at a growth stage prior to R6 should continue scouting efforts especially with continued favorable weather for potential population increases, thus the Moderate risk remaining in the forecast for now.
