As soybeans across the northern soybean-growing region continue to progress in growth, the overall soybean aphid risk will continue to decrease in the coming weeks. We are maintaining a Moderate risk across the eastern Dakotas into Minnesota, far northern Iowa, and into Wisconsin for the next week, but based on crop progress we anticipate removing this risk in the next week or so as many fields are now advancing past the critical R5-R6 growth stage. Still, later or re-planted fields may be at risk so we want growers to continue regular scouting especially with a more favorable weather forecast for some populations to increase. Low risks for more isolated issues stretch from the central Dakotas into far northeast Nebraska, the remainder of Minnesota and much of Wisconsin not included in the Moderate risk, northern Iowa, and further east into lower Michigan and southern Ontario, Canada.
