Alert Details

Low soybean aphid risks remain in the forecast through the weekend, but are then removed from the forecast by next week as a push of cold air, including the prospects for frost and potentially some freezing temperatures across the Dakotas and into portions of the upper Midwest, should trigger many soybean aphids to move back to their primary overwintering host (buckthorn) and field populations are not likely to increase given the colder weather in place. Most fields are now past critical growth stages as well, so the risk for this particular pest is no longer in place after this weekend for the 2014 growing season.
