Alert Details

As soybeans begin to bloom across the upper Midwest, Low soybean aphid risks are being introduced into the forecast mainly as an awareness that growers with early-planted soybeans should be scouting their fields regularly for signs of soybean aphids. It is recommended to monitor population changes as fields advance through reproductive stages as the reproductive stage (up to R6) is the most susceptible stage for soybeans to see yield losses as a result of soybean aphid damage. Low risks are in place where crops are showing the highest percentage of bloomed acres, or from eastern South Dakota into northern/central Iowa, Minnesota, and southwestern Wisconsin in the next week or so.
