Alert Details

Low soybean aphid risks are in place from eastern North and South Dakota into northeast Nebraska, northern and central Iowa, much of Minnesota, Wisconsin, northern Illinois, southern lower Michigan, northern Indiana, northern Ohio, and also into southwest Ontario, Canada. Many soybean fields, especially those that were planted earliest, are now into reproductive (blooming) stages of growth and are becoming susceptible to damage from soybean aphids. Soybean aphids are present in some areas, and while numbers are generally low where they are present, there are some fields that have populations near or even exceeding economic thresholds. Populations can increase rapidly with favorable weather conditions so scouting is a necessity in those fields that are in reproductive growth stages over the next week.
