Soybean Aphid
Soybean aphid populations may see some increases in the week ahead especially in the I-94 corridor from North Dakota into Minnesota where temperatures are predicted to be more favorable for populations to regenerate. Additional population increases may be seen further south and east, but precipitation and warmer temperatures may limit the overall threat in these areas. All growers from the eastern Dakotas into Minnesota, far northern Iowa, and Wisconsin are encouraged to continue to actively scout fields in the week ahead and monitor plant populations in addition to the weather forecast. If plant populations and density are approaching threshold values and a favorable weather forecast (mild but not hot temperatures and mainly light to moderate rains are predicted for several days), treatment may be warranted. More favorable chances for population increases favor late week and into next weekend.
