Moderate soybean aphid development risks remain in the forecast this week into next weekend from eastern North Dakota into northeast South Dakota, much of Minnesota, western Wisconsin, and also into far northern Iowa by late week and into next weekend. Low risks are in the forecast across the eastern Dakotas, northeast Nebraska, northern Iowa, the remainder of Minnesota, Wisconsin, northern Illinois, lower Michigan, and across southern Ontario, Canada. Near to even slightly below average temperatures are predicted for much of the risk area in the next week which may assist in further population increases in scattered areas especially across the Moderate risk area. Growers are advised to scout their own fields, especially those in the early reproductive stages, and not rely on the local gossip or extension reports only as population counts can vary considerably even across adjacent fields.
