Soybean Aphid
Favorable temperatures may lead to continued soybean aphid pressure especially west of Lake Michigan across the upper Midwest. Treatments have been ongoing especially west of the Mississippi River in Minnesota and the eastern Dakotas, and this is the general area that should continue to see soybean aphid pressure in the next week. A moderate soybean aphid risk remains in the forecast for the eastern Dakotas, much of Minnesota, and also extends further south into northern Iowa and western Wisconsin. Not all fields will see aphid populations reach or exceed threshold, thus the Moderate risk. It is important to scout your own fields and not rely simply on what your neighbors are doing or seeing in their fields, as well. Low risks for more isolated versus scattered problems are found from the central Dakotas south into northeast Nebraska, northern Iowa, the remainder of Minnesota, Wisconsin, far northern Illinois, and central lower Michigan as well as east into southern Ontario, Canada.
