Soybean Aphid
Low soybean aphid development risks continue in the forecast for the next week mainly across eastern South Dakota, southeast North Dakota, Minnesota, far northern Iowa, and into western/southwestern Wisconsin. Populations in most areas in or near the risk area are generally very low to none and with the weather expected to turn warmer to hot by late week and into the weekend in some areas, there is little reason to increase the risk at this time. Growers located in or near the risk area and with crops in the early reproductive stages of growth should regularly scout fields and take note of any population changes/increases, and follow weather forecasts especially if the heat does not build as far north as the I-90/94 corridors as this could lead to some local population increases.
