Soybean Aphid
Soybean aphid development/population risks remain in the Moderate category especially across portions of Minnesota, far eastern South Dakota, extreme southeast North Dakota, extreme northern Iowa, and into portions of western/central Wisconsin. In general, populations in most fields are staying below threshold values but some fields containing treatable levels of soybean aphids have occurred recently especially within the Moderate risk area. Low risks for more isolated problems are predicted from the central Dakotas across the remainder of Minnesota, extreme northeast Nebraska, northern Iowa, extreme northwest Illinois, and further into Wisconsin. Growers located in or near the risk areas are encouraged to continue scouting efforts until soybeans reach the R5-R5.5 growth stages.
