Alert Details

Moderate soybean aphid development and population risks remain in place across the far eastern Dakotas, much of southern/central Minnesota, and into western Wisconsin with Low risks from the Dakotas east into the remainder of Minnesota, far northern Iowa, and additional fields in central/southern Wisconsin not already included in the Moderate risk. In general, soybeans are now advancing in growth far enough that the majority of fields should be out of any potential yield loss risk directly caused by soybean aphid populations within the next week, although any late or re-planted fields may still be at risk. Once fields reach the R5.5-R6 growth stage, it takes very large populations of soybean aphids to result in yield loss. Growers located in or near the risk areas should continue scouting fields, especially those where soybean aphid populations are at or above local thresholds for treatment decisions, until the fields reach R6 or beyond.
