Alert Details

Soybean aphid development risks remain in the Low category for the next week across southern and central Minnesota, eastern South Dakota, far northern Iowa, and into Wisconsin. For this time of year and crop stage, soybean aphid counts are generally at or below average and this is especially the case in the western reaches of the risk area where conditions are generally drier than average and where temperatures have been warmer in recent weeks. There are always exceptions to this, however, and some local populations may be higher. Growers located in or near the risk area, and especially where there’s usually some aphid “hot spots” and where crop conditions are better, are encouraged to continue scouting efforts especially in those fields that are in the early reproductive stages of growth.
