Soybean Aphid
Soybean aphid development risks remain in the Low category for the time being as warm to hot weather is expected to keep a lid on most populations increasing across the northern soybean-growing region for much of this week. In general, soybean aphid populations are pretty low in most areas although there are always some areas where counts are higher, so continued scouting on all fields from the eastern Dakotas into Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, northern Iowa, and into Wisconsin that are in the early reproductive stages of growth is recommended. Growers are encouraged to scout their own fields to determine populations as conditions/populations may vary widely this year even over shorter distances and differences in field conditions may make some fields more susceptible to population sustenance or increase than others.
