Soybean Aphid
Soybean aphid development/population risks have been increased into the Moderate category across portions of the northern soybean-growing region, including Minnesota, far eastern South Dakota, northern Iowa, and into western Wisconsin. Low risks continue from southeast North Dakota into eastern South Dakota, northeast Nebraska, northern and central Iowa, much of Minnesota, and Wisconsin. More favorable temperatures may lead to some scattered population increases, some that may meet/reach treatment thresholds in some areas. Given crop stage, growers are encouraged to scout fields and make any treatment decisions based on specific in-field observations. Generally, reports are indicating only low to moderate soybean aphid populations but there are almost always some fields that see higher pressure and cooler temperatures may allow for some of these populations to increase locally.
