Soybean Aphid
Soybean aphid development risks remain in the Moderate category across far eastern South Dakota, Minnesota, far northern Iowa, and into western Wisconsin as some isolated to potentially scattered fields may see higher soybean aphid pressure. Given crop stage and potential for slightly cooler weather and precipitation later in the week and next weekend, some fields may see some local development over time. Growers are encouraged to continue scouting efforts until the plant reaches the R5.5 or R6 growth stage, and not necessarily rely on what conditions are being reported locally but take a look at each field as populations may vary even in adjacent fields. Low risks for more isolated issues extend from the eastern Dakotas as far east as near Lake Michigan and as far south as northeast Nebraska, central Iowa, and southern Wisconsin near the Illinois border.
