Soybean Aphid
Soybean aphid development/population risks remain in the Moderate category for a portion of the northern soybean-growing regions in Minnesota, far northern Iowa, and western Wisconsin with Low risks from central North Dakota and South Dakota east across the rest of Minnesota, far northeast Nebraska, central and northern Iowa, and into Wisconsin for the next week. More favorable conditions for soybean aphid population increases are expected with lower temperatures and even some respectable rain chances and with most fields somewhere in the R4-R6 growth stage, some late population increases may still occur and scouting is still recommended until fields reach R6 or beyond. Overall, however, populations are pretty low but field-level scouting is still suggested especially in areas that may be currently seeing higher numbers.
