Alert Details

Low soybean aphid migration and population increase risks have been introduced to the forecast this week as a higher percentage of the crop is now entering into early reproductive stages of growth and is becoming more vulnerable to potential damage and yield loss. There are some generally low soybean aphid populations in the Low risk area, and the weather will need to be monitored over the coming weeks, as will natural predators, to see where populations may go as we move further into reproductive growth stages. For now, growers in or near the Low risk area are encouraged to begin regular scouting efforts especially if your crop has reached reproductive growth stages. Fields from eastern South Dakota into northern Iowa, southern and central Minnesota, and Wisconsin are included in the initial risk, but again primarily in those fields that are in reproductive growth stages.
