Alert Details

Soybean aphid risks have been increased into the Moderate category across the region that typically sees the highest pressure from soybean aphids, including far eastern South Dakota, central/southern Minnesota, far northern Iowa, and into western Wisconsin. A cooler, more favorable, temperature regime is expected in the next week and this may allow soybean aphid populations, where present, to increase and potentially reach near or into treatment thresholds in some areas where pressure and populations are the highest. Not every field will see issues, but we do expect population increases over the next week or two in many areas so growers need to regularly scout fields and take note of population increases and counts where soybean aphids are present. Lower risks extend around the Moderate risk area from northeast Nebraska into central South Dakota, eastern North Dakota, remaining portions of Minnesota, Wisconsin, central Iowa, eastern and southern Wisconsin, and northwestern Illinois where more isolated soybean aphid issues may arise or be present.
