Moderate soybean aphid risks remain in the forecast for the next week across portions of southeast North Dakota, eastern South Dakota, much of Minnesota, northern Iowa, and into western/central Wisconsin with Low risks from the central Dakotas into northeast Nebraska, central Iowa, far northwest Illinois, and much of the remainder of Wisconsin. Favorable temperatures are expected for continued population increases where soybean aphids may be present, especially in the northern soybean-growing region. Not all fields have soybean aphid populations present or populations are still at low levels, but there are some fields where treatment has been needed or where populations may exceed treatment thresholds in the next week especially with favorable weather conditions. Growers should scout individual fields and make any treatment decisions based on what is going on in that specific field and not just from general comments from neighbors, etc. as populations will vary dramatically even from field to field.
