Soybean Aphid
Low soybean aphid development and increasing population risks have been introduced to the forecast this week across northern Iowa, southern and portions of central Minnesota, and southwestern Wisconsin. Soybeans are advancing a little further ahead of the pace of last year, and with some soybean aphid populations being noted in isolated to scattered areas, a risk is warranted especially given a favorable weather forecast in the next week or so for local populations to grow along with soybeans advancing more into critical growth stages in some areas. Growers with more advanced crops, especially, are advised to begin scouting efforts (if not already done so) to determine local populations at this time.
