Soybean Aphid
Moderate soybean aphid risks remain in the forecast for the next week across portions of eastern North Dakota, eastern South Dakota, northwest into central and southern Minnesota, and far northern Iowa. Weather conditions are not expected to be quite as favorable for soybean aphid populations to grow in the next week, with much of this region expecting very warm to hot conditions and also some periodic precipitation chances. Still, soybean aphids can adapt and move lower into the canopy where it is cooler, and those fields with higher populations may still be at risk. Growers in and near the risk area are encouraged to continue regular scouting efforts at the field level and make any treatment decisions based on trends and observations at that level. More isolated soybean aphid risks extend from the Moderate risk east across Wisconsin, lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada as well.
