Alert Details

Western bean cutworm risks remain in the Moderate category across portions of southeastern Canada from southern Ontario into southwest Quebec, Canada. The peak flight occurred several weeks ago in all areas and moth captures are now on a fairly rapid decline virtually everywhere, but there are still some crops that are vulnerable to western bean cutworms especially in southeastern Canada with much more isolated potential problems in northeast Colorado, northwest Kansas, and western Nebraska as well as in Wisconsin, lower Michigan, and into New York state. Growers with crops still at a susceptible stage to potential damage from western bean cutworms should continue scouting efforts until the overall threat has passed for this year.
