High western bean cutworm emergence risks are predicted across central, northeast, and eastern Nebraska for the next several days as peak flight is ongoing across this region. Additionally, sections of western Iowa are included in the Day 3-5 period as heat unit accumulations and recent trap count reports both support an increase in the risk level across this area. Moderate risks continue across much of Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, northern Indiana, northern Ohio, far northwest Pennsylvania and New York, and also into southwest Ontario, Canada (by Days 3-5). Trap counts continue to increase in many areas so growers should continue to monitor their fields for moths and new eggs in the coming weeks.
