Growers across much of the corn-growing region should remain vigilant for potential western bean cutworm flights and egg laying as several states are under High and/or Moderate risks for this particular insect. High risks are in place from eastern Nebraska into Iowa, northwest Illinois, and Wisconsin in addition to Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Ontario, Canada. Moderate risks continue across fields in Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and Ontario, Canada. Initial emergence risks will continue to shift north and encompass especially more of the Great Lakes region over the coming week as well.
