Alert Details

Western bean cutworms are expected to continue to affect fields primarily in the Great Lakes region and adjacent areas of southern Canada as peak flight continues. High risks remain across portions of northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, northern Ohio, northwest Pennsylvania/New York and Ontario, Canada with Moderate risks in place from Iowa and Minnesota east through the Great Lakes and southern Ontario/southwest Quebec, Canada. Growers in the eastern Great Lakes and Canada should monitor fields very closely as peak flight is occurring now but all farmers from west of Lake Michigan to Canada should be on alert as moths have been active and even if traps are showing signs of decreasing numbers, eggs and larvae may still be posing a threat to crops.
