Peak flight of western bean cutworms is expected to continue across portions of southern Ontario and southwest Quebec, Canada and into far northwest Pennsylvania and New York state for the next several days. As a result, High and Moderate risks are in place through early next week at fields in these regions. Overall, however, risk levels and coverage areas are being reduced especially to the southwest where peak flight has subsided and fields are moving past critical stages where damage could occur. Growers in High/Moderate risk areas are urged to continue to monitor their fields for western bean cutworm signs but the threat should pass in the next couple weeks across much of the area.
