Alert Details

Western bean cutworm activity continues to increase across much of the corn-growing region. Peak flight continues especially across portions of Nebraska and also potentially into far southwest Iowa, northwest Missouri, and far northern Missouri where a High risk is in place. Moderate risks extend from northern Kansas and Nebraska into southeast South Dakota, southern Minnesota, Iowa, far northern Missouri, far northwest and northern Illinois, Wisconsin, lower Michigan, northern Indiana, northern Ohio, northwest Pennsylvania, northwest New York, and southwest Ontario, Canada. Moth populations are not consistent in many areas, including within the same general area of a state, so growers are urged to monitor their crops closely and take action or not based on what their crops are experiencing.
