Western Bean Cutworm
High western bean cutworm risks remain across portions of Nebraska, southeast South Dakota, southern Minnesota, Iowa, far northwest Missouri, southern Wisconsin, lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada. Peak flight is occurring on a scattered basis across the High risk area at present time, but not all fields or regions will encounter problems as this insect is not causing widespread damage or is present on a widespread basis this year. Moderate risks extend from Nebraska into South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, far northern Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, northern Indiana, northern Ohio, northwest Pennsylvania, northwest New York, and southern Ontario, Canada. Growers are urged to monitor their own fields and take appropriate action especially if threshold values are met for this particular insect.
