Alert Details

The annual western bean cutworm peak flight is subsiding across much of the corn-growing region. High risks remain where moth activity may still be continuing but also where crops are still more susceptible to potential damage, or from northeast lower Michigan southeast into southern Ontario, Canada. Moderate risks continue from the central sands of Wisconsin east into northeast lower Michigan, northern Ohio, northwest Pennsylvania, northwest New York, southern Ontario, and southwest Quebec, Canada. Growers in the Great Lakes region and southeast Canada should continue monitoring crops at susceptible stages to insect damage for signs of western bean cutworm activity and take appropriate action, if needed.
