Western Bean Cutworm
Western bean cutworm emergence continues to spread north through the corn-growing region with the peak flight now occurring from northern Nebraska into northern Iowa and portions of the Great Lakes region. As heat unit accumulations continue to climb through critical emergence thresholds especially in the upper Midwest and Great Lakes region, an increase in moth captures and field presence is likely into the Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and also into Canada through the next five days as well as Pennsylvania and New York where counts are not already at peak or are still climbing.
