Western Bean Cutworm
No risk of western bean cutworm damage is predicted in the next five days. There will likely be, however, western bean cutworm moths emerge especially across the typical “hot spots” in the Plains states and also potentially into Wisconsin and other sandier soil locations in the Great Lakes region. Some moths were observed in Nebraska late last week, and risks will be inserted into the forecast once crops move into critical growth phases and the annual flight increases in the next few weeks.
