Western Bean Cutworm
Low western bean cutworm risks remain in the forecast across portions of lower Michigan northeast into southern Ontario and southwest Quebec, Canada as the annual flight winds down. The only remaining threat at this point in the growing season is to late-planted and fresh market fields. Growers with crops still at a susceptible stage to damage should continue to monitor fields for western bean cutworm larvae and take appropriate action where it may be needed. The overall risk is expected to subside by mid-month, however, as crops mature and are harvested.
