Western bean cutworms continue to pose a risk to fields especially across the eastern Great Lakes region and into Ontario as well as portions of Quebec, Canada. Trap counts and field reports continue to indicate light pressure from Wisconsin into Michigan as well as upstate New York but it appears the greatest area of concern is in Canada. As the overall threat from this insect winds down, expect a continued reduction in risk areas and levels in the next week or so.
