Western Bean Cutworm
Western bean cutworm moth captures are now beginning to decline in many areas of the corn-growing region as the annual flight subsides. Moderate risks remain in place across a portion of central and eastern lower Michigan east into southern Ontario, Canada with Low risks across Nebraska and southern South Dakota as well as Wisconsin, much of lower Michigan, and the remainder of southern Ontario into far southwest Quebec, Canada. The primary focus in the next week or so will lie in Ontario and southwest Quebec, Canada but even there, the flight should continue to subside. Corn and dry bean growers in the eastern Great Lakes region should continue monitoring traps and scout fields for the next week or so until crops are past critical growth stages.
